I recently created an account on Quora and have been trying my luck at answering various skin care related questions. One question that comes up quite frequently asks for the best anti-aging skin care tip. Today, I’ll be discussing my best anti-aging skin care tip.

Exposure to UV rays from the sun not only causes sunburn and skin cancer. It is also the leading cause of premature aging in the from of wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots.
Some people go to great lengths to avoid sun exposure, including using driving masks, wearing full body suits to the beach, and avoiding sun exposure altogether. As someone who loves the sun and has experienced the effects of vitamin D deficiency, I absolutely cannot recommend going as far as becoming nocturnal for the sake of avoiding some wrinkles. Life is too short for that.
However, there are ways to minimize damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays. The first is physical barriers in the form of protective clothing, hats, and even parasols. This can also involve staying indoors between the hours of 11am-3pm, hours when the sun’s intensity is the strongest.
Of course, my favorite way to reduce sun damage is in the form of SPF lotion. Sometimes, it’s just way too warm to wear long sleeves, and a parasol is not always practical to carry around. That way, I can wear whatever I want and still stay protected.
What to Look for in SPF Lotion
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher (I usually use SPF 50), water resistant, and offers broad range protection against UVA and UVB rays. Always make sure to wait 15 minutes after applying prior to sun exposure. In addition, don’t forget to reapply every two hours or after swimming/sweating.
My current sunscreen of choice is the Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence. I really like how it does not leave a white cast or greasy feeling on my face, plus it’s SPF 50!
While we can’t stop the aging process completely, premature aging is completely preventable if we take steps to protect our skin from harmful UV rays with the use of sunscreen and sun protection products. By delaying the aging process, we also delay the needs to buy expensive creams and cosmetics procedures.
