Product Review: Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence Today I’ll be reviewing Manyo Factory’s Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence. I’ve been wanting to add galactomyces ferment filtrate to my routine for a while, but was really turned off by the cost of the SK-II essence. I picked Manyo Factory’s essence because of the positive reviews, high concentration of galactomyces ferment filtrate, and significantly lower price point.

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Boxed

Ingredient List

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, Niacinamide, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate

Key Ingredients to Note

Of the five main Asian beauty skincare ingredients I recommend, galactomyces ferment filtrate is probably my favorite. This fermented yeast is known for its brightening and anti-aging effects and can be found in Japan’s luxury SK-II line. Though I can’t currently afford anything by SK-II, it’s heartening to know that I can still find companies that sell galactomyces ferment filtrate products at a much more affordable price point.

Product Description

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Boxed

Manyo Factory’s Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a dropper cap. I actually haven’t opened it because I’ve been using the sample that came with the Mini K-Beauty Zip n’ Go Sample Set from Memebox.  The product itself is clear and has a thin consistency that is slightly thicker than water, yet thinner than Stratia Rewind. I’d even liken it to some oil cleansers I’ve tried, minus the oily residue.

My Experience

When I first started using this product, I applied it prior to Stratia Rewind. Despite the consistency, the liquid absorbed into the skin well and left no greasy residue. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that the essence left a matte and almost dry finish on my face.

The real issue I had with this product was using Stratia Rewind on top of it. It just didn’t seem like the two liquids went well together because my skin ended up sticky and looked extremely oily by the end of the day. I also had an itching sensation that wasn’t present when using Stratia Rewind alone.

After a few days of using Manyo Factory’s essence, I removed it from my routine and had planned to return it. However, a few weeks ago I decided to give it one more chance and use it in place of the Stratia Rewind. The itching sensation went away and as time passed, I noticed brighter and less oily skin.

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence: Final Thoughts

Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Bottle

I initially didn’t like this product and nearly sent it back after a week of use. However, used independently from Stratia Rewind, the Manyo Factory essence absorbs well, doesn’t break me out, and has actually improved my skin’s oiliness and hyperpigmentation. This product has really grown on me, and after reading about some potentially damaging effects of DMAE (a main ingredient in Stratia Rewind), I’ll likely stick with the Manyo Factory Galactomyces Niacin Special Treatment Essence until I find something better.
